Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information MailTracker (“we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. MailTracker is an email tracking tool for Gmail.
Information we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and profile image from Google when you sign in.
- Message metadata you send: subject lines, recipient email addresses, and the Gmail thread identifiers of emails you choose to track, used to build your reports and history.
- Open & click events: when a tracked email is opened or a tracked link is clicked, we record a timestamp, a coarse device type, and an approximate location.
What we do not collect
- We never store the body or attachments of your emails.
- Recipient IP addresses are anonymized before storage (the last portion is discarded); we keep only country/city-level location.
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
How we use information
We use the data above to provide the service: showing open status in Gmail, powering your dashboard and reports, sending the notifications you enable, and processing payments through Stripe. We use Google’s user data solely to provide and improve these features.
Third parties
We rely on trusted processors: Google (sign-in), Stripe (payments), Amazon SES (email notifications), and our hosting/analytics infrastructure. Each processes data only as needed to operate MailTracker.
Data retention & deletion
Your tracking data is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated tracking data at any time from the Account page. This cascades and removes everything.
