Answers to common questions. Still stuck? Email [email protected] and a human will get back to you.

How do I test that tracking works?

Send a tracked email to a friend or a different email account opened on another device or browser, then have them open it. Important: opening your own email in the same browser will NOT count, because MailTracker blocks your own pixel to prevent false “opened the second I sent it” reads. This is by design; it’s the #1 reason tracking looks “broken” when it isn’t.

It shows “not opened” but I know they read it.

A few clients (some corporate setups, images-off, or plain-text readers) never load the tracking pixel, so an open can’t be detected. We also deliberately ignore automated pre-fetches from Gmail, Apple Mail Privacy Protection, and security scanners so you don’t get false opens. Occasionally a genuine open from those environments is missed as a trade-off for accuracy.

Why did I get an open right after sending?

You shouldn’t. That’s exactly what we prevent. Gmail pre-fetches images at delivery, and many tools mistakenly count that as a read. MailTracker uses a grace window and classification pipeline to filter these out.

How do I turn tracking off for one email?

Click the “Tracking on” chip at the bottom of the compose window before sending. You can also disable tracking by default in the extension popup.

How do I cancel Premium?

Open your dashboard → Billing → Manage subscription. You’ll land in the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel in a couple of clicks.
